Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or authorized personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies at a government corrections location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and emergency response procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points, verify authorization as directed, and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and promptly in accordance with site procedures.
