Correctional Programs Director I - Randolph Correctional Center
About The Position
Reporting to the Warden I, this position will direct the Programs Department for the rehabilitation & reentry of male offenders in a minimum custody correctional facility. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Functioning as an assistant to the Warden I of the correctional center while offering a variety of Programs services to the offender population. 2. Directing a major program in an area or on a statewide basis. The primary programs areas are offender classification, correctional programs (adult basic education, incentive wage, recreation, religion, and volunteer programs), and supportive counseling. 3. Supervising subordinate personnel who are responsible for the daily implementation, development, and maintenance of the programs. 4. Performing other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services OR Criminal Justice field from an appropriately accredited institution AND two years of experience in correctional programs management or related work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Meet Criminal Justice Standards requirements (12 NCAC 09G .0302)
- Pass a criminal background check
- Produce a negative drug screening result
- Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations
- Possess a valid driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- Documented experience with report writing.
- Documented knowledge of case management practices, or supportive counseling techniques and/or interviewing techniques for intake assessments.
