About The Position

This position is located at Dan River Prison Work Farm in Blanch, NC (Caswell County), a minimum custody male facility. The role reports directly to the Associate Warden of Programs and is responsible for directing programs for the rehabilitation of offenders within the prison system. This includes administering programs focused on offender classification, correctional programs (such as work release, incentive wage, educational/vocational, volunteer programs, religion, cognitive-based interventions, and recreation), and correctional supportive counseling. The position also involves coordinating these programs with custody and other facility staff.

Requirements

Meet Criminal Justice Standards requirements (12 NCAC 09G .0302)
Pass a criminal background check
Produce a negative drug screening result
Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations
Possess a valid driver’s license
Bachelor’s degree in a human services or criminal justice field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in correctional programs management or related work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Documented knowledge of supervision and/or management techniques
Documented knowledge of supportive counseling techniques and/or Case management practices
