About The Position

Positions in this job family safely transport Oklahoma Correctional Industries (OCI) and/or Agri-Services products to customers within Oklahoma, or transport and deliver canteen products between Oklahoma Correctional Facilities. The position oversees loading and unloading products and maintains necessary delivery records, documentation, and driving logs. This is an on-site position at OCI/Dick Conner Correctional Center and is not eligible for remote work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience driving a semi-tractor/trailer or box truck under a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in the commercial transportation industry.
• Knowledge of safe vehicle operation techniques and traffic laws and regulations.
• Skill in operating delivery vehicles and performing routine preventive maintenance.
• Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports, communicate effectively orally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Valid Oklahoma Class A driver’s license with appropriate endorsements at the time of appointment.
• Must take and pass a drug test before appointment.
• Must be willing and able to perform job-related travel normally associated with the position.

Responsibilities

• Deliver OCI and Agri-Services products to customers within specified deadlines while ensuring product quality.
• Safely operate Oklahoma Department of Corrections vehicles and comply with State and Federal Department of Transportation rules and regulations.
• Supervise the safe and accurate loading and unloading of products for customers or facilities.
• Supervise inmates in loading, unloading, delivery, and setup of OCI products and delivery of Agri-Services and canteen products; maintain responsibility for inmate custody.
• Perform daily vehicle maintenance and safety inspections, including checking oil, lights, tires, and other fluids.
• Follow institutional security policies and procedures, including tool control and toxic or caustic substance control.
• Maintain the required daily production rate.
• Receive and control products and documentation, and complete required paperwork promptly.
