About The Position

CoreCivic is hiring a Correctional Officer to provide security, care, and direct supervision of inmates/residents in a secure correctional facility. The role covers housing units, meals, recreation, work assignments, and other facility activities. The officer may need to employ weapons or force to maintain discipline and order. Candidates must be willing to work at either Red Rock or La Palma and be available for any hours or shift. Paid training is provided, and where applicable CoreCivic pays the cost of obtaining the required state non-commissioned security officer license. Veterans are encouraged to apply, and military service may qualify toward positions requiring criminal justice experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to complete required training.
• Availability to work any hours and any shift.
• Willingness to work at Red Rock or La Palma.

• COTA certification with more than one year's experience is associated with an increased sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and security of inmates in a correctional facility.
• Provide care and direct supervision of inmates/residents in housing units, at meals, during recreation, on work assignments, and during other facility activities.
• Work assigned posts, which may include armory/key control, housing units, kitchen, medical, and visitation.
• Employ weapons or force when necessary to maintain discipline and order.
• Complete required training.
