About The Position

CoreCivic is hiring a Correctional Officer to provide security, care, and direct supervision of inmates or residents in a secure correctional facility. The role includes supervising people in housing units, during meals and recreation, on work assignments, and throughout other facility activities. The officer may need to use weapons or force to maintain discipline and order. Officers must be willing and available to work any hours or shift and may be assigned to posts such as armory/key control, housing units, kitchen, medical, or visitation. The position is at Red Rock or La Palma. CoreCivic recognizes military service as qualifying experience for positions requiring criminal justice experience and encourages veterans to apply.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to complete any required training.
• Availability to work any hours and any shift.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Where applicable, obtain a non-commissioned security officer license in the state of employment; CoreCivic pays the cost.

Nice To Haves

• COTA certification and more than one year of experience may qualify for the updated sign-on bonus of up to $5,000.
• Veterans are encouraged to apply; military service may qualify as criminal justice experience.
