The Correctional Officer role involves supervising inmates in various settings, including living areas, recreational activities, and visitation areas. This position requires maintaining security, coordinating inmate movements, and responding to emergencies. The officer will also be responsible for tasks such as mailroom duties, tower security, medical security, perimeter security, and gate operations. Additionally, the role includes providing security during treatment activities, supervising labor crews, and ensuring prompt assistance to inmates in case of injury or illness. The officer will prepare reports, maintain logs, initiate disciplinary reports, and conduct searches for contraband. Promoting facility cleanliness and reporting maintenance needs are also key responsibilities. Members of special teams for response are also required. This role performs a variety of marginal duties as assigned.
