About The Position

As a member of our Jail Medical Team, you will be working to provide medical care within Polk County Jail. Typical duties include health education, performing physical exams, basic wound care, medication administration, maintaining inmate medical records, and collaborating with jail and other health partner staff as needed. This is a fast-paced environment working in a unique setting. WORK SCHEDULE: Thursday through Saturday 1430-0300 (2:30pm to 3:00am)

Requirements

  • Current Oregon EMT license
  • Possession of a license to practice as an EMT in the State of Oregon at the time of appointment
  • Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a valid Oregon Driver’s license within 30 days of hire
  • Current CPR required

Nice To Haves

  • Two years’ experience as an EMT preferred
  • Emergency room or past correctional experience is desirable
  • May need access to and use of a personal vehicle and maintain valid automobile insurance
