Reporting to a Correctional Programs Supervisor at a minimum custody male correctional facility, this position works in the Programs Department carrying a caseload of offenders. Other duties of this position include, but are not limited to, providing supportive counseling, conducting assessments, developing case plans, answering and following-up on offenders’ questions and concerns, making recommendations to the classifications committee, communicating effectively with other staff, offenders and the general public, working under stressful conditions caused by direct contact with incarcerated offenders, who can become physically violent and verbally abusive, performing crisis interventions to include suicide prevention, assisting in major dynamic programs or coordinating major or specialized programs for the rehabilitation of offenders, such as offender work assignments, work release, education or recreation, as well as transition planning and coordinating, and preparing written reports with accurately reflect date reviewed by various sources, reviewing, analyzing and evaluating various documents and behavior data gathered form interviews, written documentation and personal observation.
