About The Position

This anticipated vacancy is assigned to Greene Correctional Institution in Maury, North Carolina. The Correctional Case Manager is assigned a caseload of inmates and provides supportive counseling, conducts assessments, develops case plans, responds to inmate questions and concerns, and makes recommendations to the classification committee. The position also supports rehabilitation programs, including inmate work assignments, work release, education, recreation, and transition planning and coordination. Case Managers plan and coordinate inmates’ re-entry into the community before parole or release.

Requirements

• Meet Criminal Justice Standards requirements under 12 NCAC 09G .0302.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Produce a negative drug screening result.
• Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
• Meet one of the stated education and experience pathways: an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Recreation, or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution; a high school diploma or GED and two years of custody experience within the North Carolina Department of Public Safety; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
