Correctional Case Analyst-Piedmont Correctional Institution
About The Position
This position is at Piedmont Correctional Institution, a medium male prison facility housing 800 inmates in Salisbury, N.C. (Rowan County). The work involves initial diagnostic evaluation and referral counseling for offenders at diagnostic centers throughout the State prison system. Employees compile socio-psychological histories, prepare and present written summary reports with recommendations on classification and program needs to the appropriate Classification Authority. They may consult with psychological personnel on test results of mental health evaluations/assessments, provide supportive counseling when necessary, and act as a referral source for offenders needing other professional services like social services or mental health services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in testing or interviewing, and/or counseling; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge of test analysis and interpretation.
- Working knowledge of interviewing techniques and principles.
- Knowledge of rules, regulations, and policies relating to inmate custody and treatment.
