About The Position

Reporting to the Associate Warden, this position is responsible for the supervision of Correctional Lieutenant II's in a medium custody institution, increasing the custody and security coverage. Job responsibilities include; but are not limited to, the following: - Providing supervision for subordinate staff. - Conducting shift line-up, making shift assignments, and inspecting all personnel to determine if they are physically and mentally capable of assuming an assigned post. - Completing, reviewing, and maintaining time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, performance evaluations and administrative forms. - Accounting for persons and funds and ensure that all assigned equipment is operationally ready. - Identifying training needs and coordinating delivery of training to subordinate staff. - Conducting investigations, developing prison operational emergency plans, and post orders.

Requirements

  • MUST be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
  • Meet Criminal Justice Standards requirements (12 NCAC 09G .0302)
  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Produce a negative drug screening result
  • Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • High school or General Education Development (GED) diploma and two years six months of experience as a Correctional Lieutenant Or Two years of experience as a Correctional Lieutenant II Or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
