About The Position

Reporting to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for providing journey level work in the areas of Heating/Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Hot Water Supply, Plumbing, and Food Service Equipment. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: - Performing special repairs and assignments that are received by work orders from authorized personnel. - Identifying the cause of a problem; determining materials and tools needed and method of repair; and carrying out repair procedures independently on most jobs. - Performing scheduled maintenance functions as required and outlined in the preventative maintenance plans. - Training and/or supervising the work of offender helpers.

Requirements

Requires current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations part 82, subpart F.
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of progressive experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of air conditioning chillers, air handling, chilled water distribution and control systems
An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of the practices, methods, materials, and/or equipment used in the operation, maintenance, and/or repair of industrial air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
