The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a Correction Officer to maintain control of the institution, ensuring the safety and security of the facility, inmates, staff, and the general public. This role involves enforcing rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, supervising inmate activity, and monitoring security controls and equipment. The position also includes operating vehicles for perimeter security and inmate transportation, conducting inmate counts and searches, completing reports, and preventing escapes or security threats. Correction Officers may be required to use physical force, unarmed self-defense, firearms, or other means to detain or secure inmates when necessary.
