About The Position

Adyen is seeking a Corporate Tax Manager with deep US and international expertise to join their Amsterdam-based global direct tax & transfer pricing team. This role will function as an integrated global player, contributing US and international input to the overarching tax strategy while managing the day-to-day North American direct tax position. A core focus will be partnering with Head Office to determine Effectively Connected Income (ECI) and apply profit attribution rules for Permanent Establishments of banks, given Adyen's US branch operations. The successful candidate will act as a strategic bridge between the North American business and HQ, implementing scalable frameworks for continued expansion. This position reports to the Global Head of Direct Tax & Transfer Pricing and involves close collaboration with the global tax team.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of proven experience in US corporate tax, international tax and transfer pricing, branch taxation, and PE profit attribution.
  • Experience with banking and taxation of banking branches is preferred.
  • Knowledge on the intersection between State and Local Tax and Federal tax is preferred.
  • Ability to view tax as a strategic enabler, identifying opportunities to align compliance with fintech innovation.
  • Thrive in a rapidly changing digital economy; in-house experience at a financial institution or tech platform is a major plus.
  • Love to automate processes.
  • Be a go-getter who takes total ownership of your work.
  • Excel at partnering with the team and the SALT Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Co-shape our global tax position by contributing subject matter expertise to the development of global tax and transfer pricing frameworks through cross-regional projects.
  • Drive North American Tax Operations, including the federal corporate income and withholding tax strategy, ensuring alignment with global policies and acting as the primary regional point of contact for tax authorities.
  • Execute Branch Profit Attribution by partnering with global teams to implement and manage US branch PE profit attribution strategies and maintain robust documentation.
  • Advise on Product Innovation by proactively embedding tax strategy into the launch of new financial products and payment solutions, assessing local and international tax implications, and driving US R&D credits.
  • Monitor Tax Legislation by tracking and addressing changes in US, Canadian, and international tax legislation that impact the business.
  • Drive Audit Defense by managing North American federal tax audits and serving as the primary transfer pricing contact in close coordination with HQ.
  • Partner Cross-Functionally by translating complex tax concepts into actionable business insights for Product, Finance, Legal, and Country Managers.
