Corporate Systems Engineer

Dominion DynamicsOttawa, ON
Onsite

About The Position

The Corporate Systems Engineer will be the on-site face of IT for Dominion Dynamics' Ottawa and/or Toronto R&D hub, ensuring a fast-moving research and engineering team remains productive and unblocked. This is a high-autonomy generalist role responsible for day-to-day support, site network and AV, and endpoint and account administration. The role also involves supporting the experimental lab and bench hardware used by engineers. The IT systems will be operated by this role, while the security stack is owned by Security Engineering, requiring close collaboration to ensure deployed controls function smoothly.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or corporate IT
  • Hands-on experience operating endpoint management (MDM) and identity/SSO user-lifecycle administration
  • Solid networking fundamentals: switching, Wi-Fi, closets, and methodical troubleshooting
  • Conference-room AV and end-user support experience, with strong customer-service instincts
  • Self-directed and comfortable being the sole on-site IT presence at a small, fast-moving R&D site
  • Comfortable building process where little exists — especially around asset lifecycle and decommissioning
  • Experience in a primarily macOS environment

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with a modern HRIS, IdP/SSO, productivity suite, and ticketing/knowledge-base tooling — e.g., Rippling, Okta, Google Workspace, Jira/Confluence, Slack
  • Experience with structured cabling and fiber uplinks, or managing network vendors and MSPs
  • Experience supporting lab, bench, or experimental test equipment (RF, drone, or similar hardware)
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+/Network+, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Be the on-site front line of IT support — provisioning, troubleshooting, and resolving issues across hardware, software, accounts, and access
  • Operate the day-to-day endpoint and identity administration stack: device management (MDM) enrollment and policy, SSO/account lifecycle, and HRIS-driven joiner/mover/leaver execution
  • Administer the productivity and collaboration suite, ticketing, and knowledge base
  • Partner closely with Security Engineering so the controls they deploy run smoothly in everyday use
  • Run the site's networking — switching, Wi-Fi, and network closets — and coordinate structured cabling and fiber uplinks with vendors and MSPs
  • Run conference-room AV and meeting-room technology
  • Procure and issue access badges
  • Support research lab and bench machines and experimental test equipment, including asset tagging and serialization
  • Own and help mature the site's IT asset lifecycle — procurement, imaging/enrollment, inventory, and secure decommissioning/ITAD (including sensitive-media destruction)
  • Coordinate with other locations on standards, procurement, and shared processes
  • Maintain clear IT documentation and runbooks

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary and company equity
  • Comprehensive health benefits
  • Additional equity granted based on impact
