About The Position

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining the accuracy of multiple balance sheet accounts while performing transactional accounting functions as needed. This role requires an understanding of accounting principles and entries, analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position provides a ground floor opportunity within a high-growth, PE-backed company that is expected to continue seeing large growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple and competing priorities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain effectiveness under deadlines.

  • Construction industry experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own or assist in multiple duties on both a weekly and monthly cadence, including, but not limited to: Accurate weekly reconciliation of bank and intercompany balance sheet accounts. Maintenance of monthly standard entries. Ownership of all balance sheet reconciliations for weekly review and month-end close. Booking of accounting entries as part of the monthly close cycle. Assist in B/S and P&L review and research as part of the monthly close cycle. Assisting with the year-end audit and tax requirements.
  • Accurately apply cash receipts as necessary, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions. Work with the operating companies to clear discrepancies as necessary.
  • Manage accounts payable for one company, including processing invoices, verifying expenses, and ensuring timely payments. Utilize gained experience to aid in selection and implementation of AP automation software.
  • Maintain and update the fixed assets register, ensuring accurate recording of acquisitions, disposals, and transfers. Maintain depreciation records in accordance with company policies.
  • Administer the corporate office credit card platform, code expenses, and upload transactions to the operating system.
  • Prepare financial reports and support other accounting functions as needed. Be a key resource for ERP related questions and research needs.
