About The Position

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team is part of the Public Affairs division at Walt Disney World® Resort and collaborates with internal partners across the company to address the most critical needs in our communities. We create magic inside our parks by granting wishes to critically ill children and their families. We also extend the magic of Disney into our communities through volunteering and making significant financial and non-financial investments in causes that make a difference every day in the lives of those around us.

Requirements

  • A zeal for making magic and helping to serve communities and inspire youth.
  • A self-motivated, creative thinker with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and execute with excellence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work well with diverse groups, synthesizing various points of view that lead to consensus and influence decision-making.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency in the Microsoft Office 365 and/or MAC OS environment.
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at the time of application, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization.
  • Fully available from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time Zone, with possible weekends or shifts that are outside of these hours for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week.
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Orlando, Florida area.
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work.
  • Be aligned with The Disney Look appearance guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Involvement in volunteering or supporting nonprofit causes.
  • Background or education in youth education programming.
  • Previous writing experience in a professional setting.
  • Understanding of emerging and current issues.
  • Strong creative skills with demonstrated ability to design and develop collateral and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the identification and tracking of issues relevant to Walt Disney World through research and analysis.
  • Work with community nonprofits to better understand their challenges and barriers.
  • Support internal processes to help bridge gaps in community needs through unique Disney resources.
  • Work with internal and external partners to plan, support, and execute special events, Disney VoluntEARS, campaigns, and drives.
  • Tell the Disney CSR story in a creative, relevant way to strengthen our reputation and raise awareness of the causes we support.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion and professionalism, ensuring compliance with company policies and data privacy regulations.
  • Additional project work as assigned by External Affairs leadership.
