About The Position

NHS Professionals is seeking an Apprentice to join their Corporate Reward and People Analytics team. This role offers the chance to earn while learning and kick-start a career in business. The position is based in Hemel Hempstead with a hybrid working model (2 days in office, 3 days at home), with full office attendance required during induction. The apprentice will collaborate with the wider People Team and stakeholders to deliver excellent service. Key responsibilities include collecting, maintaining, and building data using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Office 365 tools, and providing administrative support for document production. The role requires the ability to present complex data clearly to non-technical stakeholders, manage filing systems with clear audit trails, and ensure compliance with data protection. The apprentice will also support the maintenance and accuracy of HR data, take accurate meeting notes, and translate them into insights for the People Analyst and Head of People Analytics. Team activities and workshops are also part of the role. The apprenticeship duration is up to 18 months, leading to a Level 3 qualification in Data Technician Apprenticeship.

Requirements

  • 5 GCSEs (C/4 or above) or equivalent including English and Maths.
  • Previous experience of working in a customer focused environment.
  • Some knowledge of Data and How data can be translated into stories.
  • 16 or over.
  • Not in full time education.
  • Proficient user of the Office 365 tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant personal development.
  • Confident and Effective communicator with strong written communication skills.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Great eye for attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Power BI is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the wider People Team and build productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collect data accurately, securely, and confidently.
  • Maintain and suggest new data builds using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Office 365 tools.
  • Provide administrative support for production of documents using Microsoft Word.
  • Present complex data clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
  • Manage filing systems and maintain clear audit trails for tasks, ensuring compliance with data protection and record-keeping requirements.
  • Support maintenance and accuracy of HR Data.
  • Take accurate notes at meetings with high accuracy and translate those into insights for People Analyst and Head of People Analytics.
  • Support team activities including workshops/Team days in office as required.
