Corporate Retail Site Manager
About The Position
McDougall Energy is seeking a high energy, results-focused individual to take on the temporary full-time role of Corporate Retail Site Manager at their Memorial Ave Esso Convenience Store and Retail Fueling Station located at 740 Memorial Ave., Thunder Bay, ON. Reporting to the Area Supervisor of Corporate Retail, the Corporate Retail Site Manager is responsible for the overall supervision of the retail operations of the site ensuring consistent company culture, goals, and objectives are met. This position is responsible for all activities at the site, including daily operation of gas bar/cardlock, restaurant and convenience store. The role also involves ensuring the site's adherence to policies and procedures including customer service, safety, government, and fuel regulations and guidelines. The manager is responsible for maximizing the sales and profitability of the store by monitoring and achieving volume, sales, labour and controllable site expenses, and ensuring all company controls, processes, standards and procedures are implemented and adhered to. Additionally, the role includes staff training and ensuring all staff are up to date on program offers.
Requirements
- 2 years’ experience in retail management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Smart Serve Certificate.
- Strong customer service and merchandising skills.
- Strong organizations and prioritization skills; committed to deadlines.
- Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail; able to manage large volumes of data.
- Computer proficiency and demonstrated knowledge of spreadsheet applications; ability to use a POS software an asset.
- Demonstrated success in living the values of McDougall Energy.
- Strong understanding of Privacy and Confidentiality in the workplace.
- Must have a valid G License and reliable vehicle.
- Must successfully pass the Retail Smart Serve course if not already certified.

- Post-secondary education an asset.
- Ability to use a POS software an asset.
