About The Position

The Corporate Relations Program Manager serves as a key connector between the Department of Computer Science and its industry partners. This role is responsible for developing and managing programs that drive meaningful engagement between corporate partners and the department, including the Friends of Computer Science (FoCS) program, corporate scholarship funds, and the AI Project Lab Program. The Program Manager plays a central role in cultivating and stewarding industry relationships that support student success and advance the department's academic and professional mission. The ideal candidate is both personable and analytical, able to build meaningful relationships with partners while using data, CRMs, and other systems to identify opportunities, track progress, and continuously improve the program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of client-facing experience in events and program management, corporate relations, partnership development, or a related area.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple event and program priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging corporate partners or external stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and industry professionals.
  • Experience managing budgets, invoicing, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis to assess program effectiveness.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in corporate relations, career services, or recruiting.
  • Knowledge of university systems such as VIP, DEFINE, OOEF, etc.
  • Track record of successful relationship building within an academic environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as program manager for FoCS and its program iterations, maintaining a portfolio of current partner companies and consistently delivering value through program benefits.
  • Perform outbound communications to potential new industry partners for FoCS with targeted revenue goals.
  • Develop a prospect pipeline through corporate visits and calls.
  • Provide recommendations on updates to program benefits and structure.
  • Develop and convert prospective companies through corporate visits and calls.
  • Provide the highest level of partner stewardship through surveys, strategy calls, and onsite visits.
  • Execute all event logistics, including budgets, timelines, vendors, printed materials, marketing, communications, and onsite support.
  • Oversee invoicing and funds management for the program.
  • Create and implement data collection processes to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Oversee and manage corporate scholarship funds and other corporate funding programs as allocated by the Director of Industry & Research Relations.
  • Collaborate with departmental academic and accounting teams to ensure funding is appropriately allocated and distributed.
  • Manage stewardship for industry donors of scholarships and other funds, including ongoing partner communications.
  • Provide tours corporate and foundation partners of the Texas Robotics facility in Anna Hiss Gymnasium as well as other buildings that host the School of Computing faculty and students.
  • Invite IAP members to key recruiting events, including the Graduate Summit and the FoCS recruiting fairs.
  • Update, organize and analyze the databases that track IAP partners to deliver on benefits and promote partner renewals.
  • Hire, onboard, and supervise student worker(s) in support of departmental programs and initiatives, on an as needed basis.
