About The Position

We are looking for a detailed oriented Corporate Payroll Manager to join our team in Point of Rocks, MD. Responsible for managing the US payroll, Human Resource & Payroll systems at the corporate office by administrating data, oversees compensation pay grades & titles, and conducts routine evaluations of the workers’ compensation management program. This position follows a hybrid work model, with the expectation to be onsite at our Point of Rocks, MD location up to three (3) days per week, or as determined by your manager based on team and business needs. The remaining days may be worked remotely. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of our Point of Rocks, MD location. Flexibility in the hybrid schedule may vary depending on departmental needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or minimum of 5 years of payroll experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A technical understanding of one or more HRIS platforms and understanding of database construction, preferably with ADP Workforce Now.
  • High degree of personal and technical communication skills.
  • High level of confidentiality in handling employee information.

Nice To Haves

  • CPP designation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all US payroll, interface of all US payroll wages & hours into General Ledger, review quarterly wage and tax registers and year end W2s.
  • Manages the activities of 7 divisions within a centralized payroll department in carrying out responsibility for payroll preparation and processing.
  • Overviews flow of HR-related information including data entry, retrieval and generation of standard and ad hoc reports.
  • Manages data integrity and maintains the internal company system for values, codes, tables, security and backup files.
  • Serves as liaison with the MIS department on technical matters and equipment maintenance.
  • Coordinates interface with other internal systems such as payroll, time and attendance records, vacation entitlements and usage, etc.
  • Serves as liaison with third party vendors for data transmission and changes in HRMS, payroll and time & attendance systems.
  • Conducts training and provides trouble shooting support for end users and other managers as needed.
  • Recommends system improvements and additional applications to improve efficiency of the human resource department.
  • In consultation with Vice President Human Resources determines user access levels and passwords.
  • Compiles and analyzes workers compensation claims & dollars for Financials.
  • Oversee compensation pay grades & positions in HRIS system. Participate in the Compensation committee.
  • Back up to both HR & Benefits in Corporate office. Participate in the Benefits committee.
  • Maintains a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with customers, co-workers, clients, and supervisors.
  • Manages direct reports through coaching and supporting their training, development, and productivity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
