About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Corporate Payroll Accountant to support payroll-related accounting functions across multiple entities. This role is responsible for payroll general ledger mapping, reconciliations, intercompany allocations, monthly commissions and supporting benefit audits. The ideal candidate has strong experience with ADP, Dayforce and/or UKG payroll systems and a deep understanding of payroll accounting processes, including benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll accounting or corporate accounting
  • Strong working knowledge of ADP, Dayforce and/or UKG payroll systems
  • Experience with: Payroll GL mapping
  • Payroll reconciliations
  • Intercompany allocations
  • Balance sheet account reconciliation
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliation modeling)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in multi-entity or hospitality environment
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, etc.)
  • Familiarity with benefits accounting and audit support

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage payroll-to-general ledger (GL) mappings within payroll system and accounting systems
  • Perform payroll reconciliations, ensuring accuracy between payroll reports, GL, and bank activity
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations for payroll-related accounts (e.g., wages payable, tax liabilities, benefit accruals)
  • Investigate and resolve reconciling items and discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Prepare and post journal entries related to payroll, benefits, and accruals
  • Calculate monthly business development commissions
  • Handle intercompany payroll and expense allocations, ensuring proper coding and compliance with company policies
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes related to payroll
  • Assist with benefit audits, including validation of deductions, employer contributions, and vendor invoicing
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, and Finance teams to ensure accurate employee data and reporting
  • Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all payroll accounting activities
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
  • Support payroll system enhancements, testing, and implementations (payroll system upgrades, integrations)
  • Develop and improve reconciliation templates and automation tools (Excel-based or system-based)
  • Analyze payroll trends and provide variance analysis to leadership
  • Assist with SOX controls or internal audit requests related to payroll processes
  • Support multi-state payroll compliance considerations where applicable
  • Provide backup support for payroll processing if needed
