About The Position

The Corporation of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall is a registered charity that operates two of Toronto’s most iconic venues: Roy Thomson Hall and Allied Music Centre—home to legendary Massey Hall, TD Music Hall, Allied Music Centre Theatre, Deane Cameron Recording Studio, and more. Guided by a professional management team and volunteer Board of Governors, the Corporation is dedicated to enriching communities through the cultural, social, and economic power of music. The Corporation is actively engaged in Artist Development and Education & Community Engagement initiatives as an investment in the next generation of artists and audiences. The Advancement Group at Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall leads revenue generation across Corporate Partnerships, Philanthropy, and Membership, supporting both the long-term sustainability of our iconic venues including the impact of our artist development and community and education programs. The Corporate Partnerships Manager is a revenue-generating business development role focused on new partner acquisition. The Manager will build and convert a strong pipeline of corporate prospects, develop a deep understanding of each prospect’s business and marketing objectives, and create integrated partnership opportunities across Allied Music Centre and Roy Thomson Hall. The ideal candidate has a proven record in sponsorship sales and partnership development. They know how to move an opportunity from prospect identification and outreach through meeting, proposal, negotiation, contracting, and close. They are results-driven, comfortable initiating new relationships, and accountable for achieving revenue targets while creating partnerships that connect brands with audiences, artists, and meaningful community impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success acquiring new corporate partners and achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Direct experience managing the full partnership sales cycle, including prospect identification, cold and warm outreach, discovery meetings, proposal development, presentations, negotiation, contracting, and close.
  • Proven ability to build, manage, and convert a qualified sales pipeline, with strong forecasting, follow-up, and CRM discipline.
  • Experience developing tailored partnership solutions based on a prospect’s business, brand, audience, marketing, and social impact objectives.
  • Strong commercial judgment, with the ability to structure and negotiate partnership terms that deliver value to both the partner and the organization.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, proposal-writing, and relationship-building skills, with confidence engaging senior decision-makers.
  • Experience collaborating across Marketing, Programming, Events, Venue Operations, Finance, and other internal teams to develop and deliver integrated partnership opportunities.
  • A results-driven and persistent approach, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain momentum through complex sales cycles.
  • A collaborative and grounded working style, with sound judgment, accountability, and respect for the contributions of others.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, sales management tools, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Experience in live entertainment, arts and culture, sports, media, hospitality, venues, or experiential marketing is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve ambitious annual corporate partnership and sponsorship revenue targets through new partner acquisition, revenue growth, and the development of multi-year partnerships.
  • Identify, research, qualify, and prioritize prospective partners across relevant industries, building and maintaining a strong pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Conduct consistent cold and warm outreach, secure meetings with senior decision-makers, and move prospects from initial contact through discovery, proposal, negotiation, contracting, and close.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each prospect’s business, brand, audiences, marketing priorities, and social impact objectives, and translate those insights into tailored partnership opportunities.
  • Create compelling integrated marketing and sponsorship solutions that connect brands with live music, artists, audiences, premium experiences, and community, education, and artist development programs.
  • Lead partnership proposals, presentations, deal structuring, negotiations, and contracting, ensuring alignment with revenue goals, partner objectives, organizational priorities, and available assets.
  • Develop and manage a strong inventory of marketable partnership assets, including naming rights, venue assets, premium experiences, content, events, activations, and program sponsorships.
  • Maintain disciplined pipeline management, forecasting, CRM records, and follow-up, providing regular updates on activity, opportunity value, probability, revenue forecasts, and performance against targets.
  • Collaborate across Advancement, Marketing, Programming, Events, Venue Operations, Finance, and other departments to develop credible partnership offerings and support effective activation and delivery.
  • Support partner retention and growth by identifying renewal, expansion, and multi-year opportunities, and by demonstrating the business and community value of each partnership.
  • Stay current on sponsorship, integrated marketing, corporate partnership, and social impact trends to identify new opportunities and keep the organization’s offerings competitive.
  • Represent the organization externally, building relationships and expanding its network across corporate, commercial, and community-focused sectors.
