Join a team where your growth is our priority! The Paralegal plays a vital role in our litigation practice and provides essential support to our attorneys and the Chief Financial Officer. You will manage a high volume of cases, support business operations, and help navigate complex real estate and litigation matters within strict deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field, OR a Paralegal Certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a paralegal role (Litigation and/or Real Estate experience is highly preferred).
  • Proficient in G-Suite (Google), Microsoft Office, and Westlaw/Lexis.
  • Strong understanding of legal language, federal/California state court rules, and research methods.
  • Extreme attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Must exercise high levels of discretion and maintain strict confidentiality of communications.

Nice To Haves

  • Litigation and/or Real Estate experience is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in drafting and proofreading legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests/responses.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research on case law and legal topics; investigate factual information and public records to ensure the accuracy of all legal filings.
  • Organize and maintain complex case files, records, and databases; manage strict court deadlines and ensure accurate, timely filing in accordance with judicial procedures.
  • Coordinate with clients to gather evidence, witness statements, and deposition transcripts; summarize discovery (interrogatories/depositions) and prepare evidentiary reports.
  • Prepare for depositions and trials by coordinating court appearances, scheduling witnesses/experts, assembling trial exhibits, and creating presentation slides for oral arguments.
  • Draft initial responses to escalated tenant complaints, requests for accommodation, and legal letters.
  • Assist in investigations and the preparation of responses to agencies such as the California Civil Rights Department (Housing section) and OSHA.
  • Provide support during settlement negotiations with opposing counsel and third parties.
