About The Position

WeirFoulds LLP is seeking a mid to senior level associate to join our thriving Corporate Practice Group. In this role, you will work closely with senior lawyers on complex corporate-commercial matters and private M&A transactions for clients that include start-ups, entrepreneurial companies, established businesses, and Canadian subsidiaries of U.S.-based and multinational corporations. You will have meaningful responsibility on files, regular client contact, and the opportunity to deepen your skill set across the full deal cycle—from initial structuring and diligence through signing, closing, and post-closing integration. Requirements

  • 4-6 years of experience with a variety of corporate commercial matters and private M&A
  • Strong technical, analytical, drafting and organizational skills
  • Meaningful experience with mergers and acquisitions, corporate financing transactions, general corporate matters, corporate organization and reorganizations, and drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
  • A proactive approach to practice management with strong attention to detail and client reporting
  • Ability to work with lawyers at all levels and be a team player
  • Strong client service skills and demonstrated strengths in entrepreneurialism and building and developing client relationships

  • Experience working with Closing Folders is an asset
