About The Position

White Cap’s internship provides students with hands-on experience in areas that may include operations and other business functions. The intern performs analysis, develops findings and recommendations, works on functional projects or process improvements, communicates issues and roadblocks, and may support research or special projects. The role operates under general supervision and may include pairing with a mentor. Work is conducted in a comfortable indoor environment, with occasional light lifting or stooping and typically less than 10% overnight travel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is strongly preferred.

• Rising senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in operations management, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Exposure to Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
• Located near a high-volume White Cap branch; preferred locations include Plainville, Massachusetts; Orange, Connecticut; Norcross, Georgia; and Austin, Texas; Chicago, Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver insights and recommendations based on analyses.
• Produce findings and conclusions from analyses and make oral and written recommendations to management.
• Execute tasks directly related to functional projects and process improvements.
• Communicate issues and roadblocks related to areas of responsibility.
• Assist with research or special projects to fulfill business initiatives and meet business objectives.
• Resolve readily identifiable problems and address missing or incomplete information and inconsistencies in routine research or data.
• May provide general guidance to or train junior-level support personnel.
