About The Position

The Corporate Giving Specialist is a full-time position in the Philanthropy Department, reporting to the Director of Development. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Corporate Giving Program in support of Philanthropy Department annual fundraising goals. The Corporate Giving Specialist serves as a forward-facing representative of HSPPR, ensuring innovative sponsorship opportunities and exceptional donor experiences.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelors' degree or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of philanthropy or corporate sponsorship related experience preferred.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, Teams and emerging tools.
  • Experience with CRM or donor databases (e.g. Raiser's Edge, Salesforce) preferred.
  • Experience with online platforms for ticketing, electronic payments, and gift processing preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Proven organizational and planning skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Sound judgment and ability to exercise complete discretion when dealing with confidential information.
  • A resourceful style with the ability to work independently, take initiative and manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines, as well as to be a team player who is eager to collaborate with others.
  • An ability to network and build alliances.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local community and philanthropic environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven experience with the delivery of excellent customer service.
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License with insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Annual and Event Sponsorship Programs in support of annual fundraising events to include: helping to develop collateral, prospecting, securing commitments and fulfillment.
  • Responsible for approximately 50% of the annual $1 million events fundraising goal (about $500,000 annually in sponsorships) as part of a $5.5-8M+ annual philanthropic goal.
  • Cultivates and oversees impactful in-kind and media sponsorship opportunities and benefits.
  • Collaborate and contribute with Events, Major Gifts, Communications, and Volunteer Services teams to ensure the fulfillment of sponsorship benefits and event logistics for the delivery of meaningful and value-added sponsorships.
  • Manage new and established business and corporate relations, including business affiliate partnerships, to maximize support of organizational needs.
  • Coordinates and oversees 3rd party/DIY fundraisers with business partners/individuals including preparing information for the website, brand recognition and promotion, payments, and in some cases personal appearances.
  • Regularly represent HSPPR at corporate networking, conferences, and industry events, fostering new partnerships and enhancing organizational visibility.
  • Be willing to represent, speak, and present as an HSPPR spokesperson.
  • Evaluate sponsorship giving levels, benefits, and fair market value of sponsorship packages.
  • Stewardship of corporate relationships through personalized communication, hosted tours and appreciation events, enrichment opportunities, puppygrams, etc.
  • Track and grow program using revenue and retention metrics.
  • Verify all sponsorship giving and key contacts are accurately recorded in Raiser's Edge and utilize event platforms (i.e.. Givesmart and Qgiv) for gift processing and reconciliation with Finance.
  • Prepare all corporate gift acknowledgements and thank you notes for sponsors.
  • Serve as a key contributor to the Events team planning, preparation and execution.
  • Work closely with the Events Manager and Specialist to effectively support signature events (Fur Ball Pawtoberfest, and Whisker Brunch).
  • Establish and maintain SOPs to standardize and enhance corporate giving processes, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and donor satisfaction.
  • If the Community Animal Response Team (CART) is activated, may serve as the Emergency Support Functions (ESF) #11 desk representative at either the City or County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and is responsible for serving as the liaison between HSPPR, the CART shelter(s) and the Command Staff.
  • Attends EOC-related City and County training, including but not limited to completing the FEMA IS-100.b and IS-700.A certificate to be prepared to serve at the ESF #11 desk.
  • Commitment to the mission, values, goals and success of HSPPR.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
