About The Position

A United Way Ambassador is a temporary full time professional hired to support United Way’s corporate fundraising team throughout the annual fundraising campaign season. Ambassadors directly assist with workplace giving campaigns and provide overall support to the corporate fundraising team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong public speaking, presentation, and communications skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experienced and comfortable in virtual platforms, such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, critical thinking, and judgment skills required.
  • Possess a collaborative spirit, as well as the ability to multi-task and prioritize concurrent projects and day-to-day tasks within a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work both in-person and virtually (Tuesdays & Wednesdays are mandatory in-office days)
  • Maintains confidential information and adheres to privacy policies.
  • Comfortable with traveling to in-person fundraising events and activities both in the city of Chicago and in suburban Chicago; reliable transportation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of meaningful employee fundraising campaigns in collaboration with the corporate fundraising team.
  • Communicate and plan with key corporate contacts.
  • Attend and present the United Way of Metro Chicago mission at virtual and in-person campaign presentations and activities.
  • Capture and communicate key outcomes and insights to internal teams and document them in the CRM system.
  • Assist with organization and facilitation of volunteer events.
  • Deliver impactful presentations to corporate volunteers.
  • Provide hands-on instruction to volunteers for packing essential items for underserved communities.
  • Manage multiple timelines and deliverables simultaneously, demonstrating strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Provide administrative support, customer service, and other duties as assigned by the management team.
