About The Position

Huntsman is seeking a Corporate Emergency Response & Crisis Manager, EHS & Manufacturing Excellence supporting the EHS and Manufacturing Excellence and Engineering – Sustainability and EHS Governance Division located in The Woodlands, TX. This position will report to the Senior Director, Global Sustainability and EHS Governance. The Corporate Emergency Response & Crisis Manager is responsible for strengthening enterprise readiness to prepare for, respond to, manage, and recover from significant emergencies and crises across global operations. The role protects people, communities, the environment, assets, business continuity, and stakeholder confidence by establishing corporate emergency response expectations, supporting site and regional response capability, and coordinating corporate crisis management processes. The role establishes and maintains emergency response expectations, supports site and regional response capability, coordinates corporate crisis management processes, and serves as a key liaison among affected sites, EHS leadership, operations, Legal, IT, Communications, and executive leadership during incidents requiring corporate support or escalation. The role is intended to strengthen the company’s ability to protect people, communities, the environment, assets, business continuity, and stakeholder confidence during high-consequence events.

Requirements

  • Unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Emergency Management, or a related discipline is preferred; or 15+ years of relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in emergency response, crisis management, operational risk, process safety, EHS, or related disciplines within petrochemical, chemical, industrial, or high-hazard operating environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading significant incident response, emergency preparedness, crisis exercises, or cross-functional response coordination.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects, preparedness initiatives, corrective actions, or emergency response improvement plans.
  • Experience working with site, regional, and corporate stakeholders in a global or multi-site operating environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of emergency response frameworks, including ICS, NIMS, or equivalent incident management structures.
  • Strong understanding of emergency response, crisis management, operational risk, and high-hazard industrial or chemical manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and provide clear direction under high-pressure, time-sensitive conditions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief senior leaders and coordinate across technical, operational, legal, communications, security, and site leadership teams.
  • Working knowledge of incident tracking, emergency notification, crisis coordination, or related response management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications or training include FEMA ICS/NIMS, emergency management certification, CSP, CIH, business continuity, process safety, or equivalent credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement, and maintain corporate emergency response expectations, standards, and guidance for site and regional emergency preparedness.
  • Support development, deployment, and evaluation of emergency response training, drills, and exercises for site and regional response teams.
  • Evaluate drill and exercise performance, identify readiness gaps, and incorporate lessons learned into emergency response expectations, training, and preparedness activities.
  • Manage the corporate crisis management framework, including escalation protocols, response roles, coordination routines, and alignment with site and regional response structures.
  • Coordinate corporate Crisis Management Team activation, situational awareness, escalation, and response processes during significant incidents requiring corporate support or escalation.
  • Develop and maintain crisis management plans and scenario guidance for natural hazard events, significant operational disruptions, major process safety incidents, and other enterprise-level crisis scenarios, including cyber-related events where operational or business continuity impacts require corporate coordination.
  • Provide technical guidance and response support to regional and site-level teams before, during, and after emergency situations.
  • Serve as a coordination point among affected sites, corporate leadership, EHS leadership, operations, Legal, IT, Security, Communications, and other relevant functions during crisis events.
  • Support timely decision-making, resource coordination, escalation, and situational awareness during incidents requiring corporate involvement.
  • Support conformance with applicable regulatory, corporate, and management-system requirements for emergency response and crisis management.
  • Review site and regional emergency response programs to assess alignment with corporate expectations, identify gaps, and support corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with audit, assurance, EHS governance, and management review processes to integrate emergency response and crisis management expectations into broader operational risk management.
  • Lead or support post-incident and post-exercise reviews to identify lessons learned, corrective actions, and opportunities to improve preparedness and response capability.
  • Monitor emerging risks, response practices, technologies, and industry developments relevant to emergency response, crisis management, and organizational resilience.
  • Translate lessons learned and external good practices into practical improvements to standards, training, drills, exercises, and crisis management processes.
