The Corporate Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for organizing and administering areas of clinical and patient care services to achieve the objectives set by administration. This role involves developing hospital-wide programs, policies, and procedures to assess, evaluate, and meet patient needs. The DON will develop and implement hospital plans for providing nursing care, treatment, and clinical services. Additionally, the DON will participate in the facility’s decision-making processes with management, medical staff, and clinical leaders. A key responsibility is implementing an effective, ongoing program to measure, assess, and improve the quality of nursing care, treatment, and services delivered to patients.

Requirements

  • Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum of two (2) years supervisory/management experience necessary
  • Minimum of five (5) years of continuous clinical experience in a clinical/acute care setting
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Chief Nursing Executive Experience required

  • Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) within 6 months of hire and maintain current

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and administers areas of clinical and patient care services to attain facility’s objectives established by administration.
  • Develops hospital-wide programs, policies and procedures to assess, evaluate and meet the needs of the patient.
  • Develops and implements hospital plans for providing nursing care, treatment, and clinical services to those patients requiring care treatment and services.
  • Participates with the management, medical staff and clinical leaders in the facility’s decision-making structures and processes.
  • Implements an effective, ongoing program to measure, assess and improve the quality of nursing care, treatment and services delivered to patients.
