Marshalltown is seeking a Corporate Counsel to provide legal support across all aspects of the enterprise. This role supports business teams throughout the organization and works directly with senior leadership. The Corporate Counsel will report to the General Counsel and have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in how the company manages risk, supports growth, and achieves its strategic objectives. This position is based out of our Marshalltown, Iowa facility.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, required.
  • Admission to the Iowa Bar, required.
  • 2–3 years of relevant legal experience, practicing law or an equivalent combination of practice and professional experience.
  • Prior in-house or law firm experience.
  • Strong academic performance in law school, transcripts will be requested.
  • Sound business judgment and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated initiative and a proactive approach to work; able to operate with appropriate levels of independence.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive, solution-oriented culture.
  • High integrity, sound ethics, and a commitment to confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, practical legal advice to support business operations and strategic initiatives across the organization.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements.
  • Support compliance efforts for U.S. and international operations.
  • Help manage the company’s intellectual property portfolio and strategy.
  • Assist with corporate governance, product, and international trade matters.
  • Take on varied legal assignments across multiple practice areas.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to deliver clear, business-focused legal guidance.
  • Build strong relationships across the company and work closely with senior leadership on key initiatives.
