About The Position

Rock is seeking an in-house corporate attorney, at a level from Associate to Managing Attorney, to advise leadership teams at Rock and other companies within the Rock Family of Companies on diverse corporate, business, and philanthropic matters. The final title and level will depend on the candidate’s experience and years of practice. Reporting to the General Counsel, the attorney will serve as lead counsel on a range of matters across the Family of Companies and provide general legal support to its companies.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the Michigan Bar.
• At least four years of relevant legal experience, such as experience with commercial transactions, corporate governance, contracts, and related business matters.
• Strong business judgment and highly developed risk-assessment and decision-making skills, including the ability to think strategically about legal and business issues.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Advise business partners across the Rock Family of Companies on various legal matters.
• Review, draft, negotiate, and prepare legal documents.
• Provide general legal support to companies within the Rock Family of Companies.
• Research and advise on policies, procedures, processes, corporate structure, licensing, compliance, and regulations.
• Partner with business leaders to resolve legal and corporate matters.
• Serve as a liaison to outside counsel in connection with litigation matters.
