About The Position

As a Corporate Counsel, you will serve as a trusted advisor to SEL's business units and subsidiaries, helping teams navigate legal challenges and achieve business objectives. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of matters and develop expertise across multiple areas of law. Depending on business needs and your experience, your work may include contracts, employment, benefits, property, environmental health and safety (EH&S), purchasing, and other legal disciplines. Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association (or equivalent admission in another applicable jurisdiction).
  • Two or more years of experience practicing law.
  • Strong analytical, research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and collaborative approach.
  • Ability to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities.
  • Self-motivated, action-oriented, and capable of making sound decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Business and legal fluency in a second language.
  • Experience or knowledge in one or more applicable areas of law, which may include contracts, employment, corporate governance, benefits, property, EH&S, purchasing, intellectual property, or international matters.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business units and subsidiaries to provide practical, solution-oriented legal guidance.
  • Research and analyze legal issues affecting business operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, policies, and other legal documents.
  • Advise internal clients on legal risks, options, and business-focused solutions.
  • Assist with litigation and dispute resolution matters.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and professionals across the Legal Department and throughout SEL.
  • Apply SEL Values, Principles of Operation, and World Class Manufacturing principles in your work.
