We are currently seeking a Corporate Counsel to join Silverado’s Risk & Legal Affairs Department. Requirements

  • Willingness to work as part of an in-person team (remote work is not available for this role)
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) required
  • Admitted to a State Bar in any jurisdiction (California preferred).
  • 5-7 years of experience as a licensed attorney
  • At least 2-3 years of healthcare and/or transactional law experience, either in-house or within a law firm
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving abilities
  • Practical, results-oriented approach balanced with sound legal judgement
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously, communicate with internal stakeholders and deliver timely results
  • Self-starter who can work independently while also thriving in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Highly self-directed with excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Must be comfortable working in an environment with pets

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in assisted living and/or hospice industry strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including vendor contracts, referral relationships, medical director agreements, and leases
  • Advise on federal and state healthcare regulations, including hospice Conditions of Participation and applicable assisted living state regulations
  • Provide discovery support for GL/PL and EPL litigation
  • Advise on subpoenas and records requests
  • Promote a culture of compliance and accountability across the organization
  • Support development of policies, procedures, and training materials
  • Advise internal stakeholders related to company initiatives and regulatory changes
  • Additional projects assigned by Vice President, Risk & Legal
