Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • License to practice law in SC
  • 3-8 years of experience with consumer finance, creditor rights, or financial services
  • Experience working with or managing outside counsel
  • Robust combination of legal expertise and interpersonal skills
  • Deep understanding of financial regulations and corporate law
  • Strong analytical abilities to assess complex legal issues and provide strategic advice
  • Excellent communication skills to convey legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders and facilitate collaborative discussions
  • Problem-solving skills to devise innovative solutions and navigate challenges with effectiveness
  • Attention to detail for drafting and reviewing contracts and ensuring compliance with regulations
  • High degree of integrity and accountability to uphold the company’s values while advising on sensitive matters
  • Adaptable and forward-thinking in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal guidance to various departments
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and corporate governance
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of contracts
  • Work closely with stakeholders to mitigate risks and enhance business operations
  • Conduct legal research to support the company’s initiatives
  • Prepare insightful reports on legal matters impacting the organization
  • Advise on corporate policies and procedures
