Requirements

J.D. from an accredited law school
License to practice law in SC
3-8 years of experience with consumer finance, creditor rights, or financial services
Experience working with or managing outside counsel
Robust combination of legal expertise and interpersonal skills
Deep understanding of financial regulations and corporate law
Strong analytical abilities to assess complex legal issues and provide strategic advice
Excellent communication skills to convey legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders and facilitate collaborative discussions
Problem-solving skills to devise innovative solutions and navigate challenges with effectiveness
Attention to detail for drafting and reviewing contracts and ensuring compliance with regulations
High degree of integrity and accountability to uphold the company’s values while advising on sensitive matters
Adaptable and forward-thinking in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Responsibilities

Provide expert legal guidance to various departments
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and corporate governance
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of contracts
Work closely with stakeholders to mitigate risks and enhance business operations
Conduct legal research to support the company’s initiatives
Prepare insightful reports on legal matters impacting the organization
Advise on corporate policies and procedures
Foster a culture of integrity and accountability throughout the company
