About The Position

Philo is seeking a sharp, business-minded lawyer to join their team. This role will focus on meaningful deals that shape how people watch TV. Philo delivers a live TV streaming experience with over 70 channels, including top-tier networks, unlimited DVR, and premium add-ons. The company is backed by NEA and Mark Cuban Companies, among others, and has industry heavyweights as partners. The Legal Team operates as a partner to the business, providing practical and creative solutions. This is a growing, high-impact team where the new hire will be a meaningful part of the growth.

Requirements

5-10 years of legal experience.
Hands-on experience with television licensing (network affiliation, FAST).
Experience with platform deals is a plus.
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active New York Bar membership.
Ability to provide practical, business-savvy advice.
Low ego and high output.
Genuine enthusiasm for media and entertainment.

Responsibilities

Negotiating and drafting content license agreements, platform deals, production agreements, vendor MSAs and SOWs, and IOs.
Handling releases, clearances, IP questions, takedowns, technology/SAAS agreements, and unforeseen legal issues.
Building out legal playbooks, developing templates, and improving team efficiency.
