About The Position
Philo is seeking a sharp, business-minded lawyer to join their ambitious team. This role focuses on meaningful deals that shape how people watch TV. Philo delivers a live TV streaming experience with over 70 channels, unlimited DVR, premium services, and a FAST service. The company is backed by NEA, Mark Cuban Companies, and industry heavyweights. The Legal Team aims to be a true partner to the business, delivering practical, creative solutions. This is a growing, high-impact team where the new hire will be a meaningful part of that growth, working out of the Brooklyn, NY office.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of legal experience, including hands-on experience with television licensing (network affiliation, FAST).
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active New York Bar membership.
- Instincts to give practical, business-savvy advice.
- Low ego and high output.
- Genuine enthusiasm for media and entertainment.

- Experience with platform deals.
Responsibilities
- Negotiating and drafting content license agreements, platform deals, production agreements, vendor MSAs and SOWs, and IOs.
- Handling releases, clearances, IP questions, takedowns, technology/SAAS agreements, and unforeseen issues.
- Building legal playbooks, developing templates, and improving team efficiency.
