About The Position

Fountain Comfort Group (FCG) is a leading multi-state residential HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical services company seeking a seasoned Corporate Controller. This role is a key leadership position responsible for professionalizing financial operations and building a team to support a high-volume, multi-site enterprise. The Corporate Controller will lead a distributed accounting function, manage localized P&Ls, and ensure unified corporate reporting standards. A strong emphasis is placed on team development, process institutionalization, and audit readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
  • 3+ years managing accounting for a multi-site organization (e.g., home services, construction, or distributed healthcare).
  • Proven track record of building and managing accounting teams across multiple locations.
  • Extensive experience leading full-scope external audits.
  • High proficiency in enterprise-level ERPs and Field Service Management (FSM) platforms.
  • Ability to translate complex financial data for non-financial regional managers.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead a scalable accounting organizational structure, including recruitment, mentoring, and management of regional accounting staff.
  • Establish clear KPIs and performance standards for the accounting team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and provide professional development opportunities.
  • Oversee financial performance reporting across multiple business units, ensuring consistency in revenue recognition and expense allocation.
  • Partner with regional leadership to analyze local P&L performance, job costing accuracy, and field labor efficiency.
  • Standardize financial workflows across all locations for seamless data consolidation and comparative analysis.
  • Direct the integration of new sites into the FCG financial ecosystem.
  • Take full ownership of the annual external audit process and act as the primary liaison with auditors.
  • Ensure all financial records adhere to GAAP and maintain a Corporate Accounting Policy Manual.
  • Direct corporate treasury functions, including cash concentration, liquidity forecasts, and cash conversion cycle optimization.
  • Collaborate on building flash reports and operational scorecards.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls for asset protection and data integrity.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to ensure adherence to financial policies.
  • Assist with the preparation of board reporting materials.
