About The Position

This role involves leading an accounting team and overseeing all facets of accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, close management, financial reporting, internal controls, audits, and compliance activities. The Corporate Controller will direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting cycles for multiple subsidiaries, site locations, and the corporate office, ensuring timely and accurate financial results. This position also involves performing monthly analysis of revenue and expenses, reviewing job profitability, establishing and maintaining a robust internal control environment, and serving as the lead regional accounting authority on technical accounting matters. Additionally, the role oversees regional tax compliance, debt covenant calculations, lender reporting, and partners with executive leadership to provide financial guidance and align controllership priorities with business strategy. The Corporate Controller will drive standardization, simplification, and continuous improvement of accounting processes, controls, and systems, and support the CFO on strategic projects. Succession planning, capability development, performance management, and team effectiveness are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role with multi-entity and multi-site responsibility required.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Strong technical accounting, analytical, and financial problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to design and strengthen control frameworks, drive process improvement, and support finance transformation efforts.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, cross-functional stakeholders, auditors, lenders, and parent company representatives.
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with operational discipline and execution.
  • Strong leadership skills, including experience developing managers and leading teams through change.
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency; deep ERP experience required.
  • Self-starter, proactive, and results oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading accounting within a public company, SOX-regulated environment, or similarly complex governance structure strongly preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, international operations, and private equity-backed environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an accounting team consisting of an Accounting Manager, FP&A, Special Projects, four direct subordinates and five indirect subordinates.
  • Oversee all facets of accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, close management, financial reporting, internal controls, audits, and compliance activities.
  • Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting cycles for multiple subsidiaries, site locations, and the corporate office, ensuring timely and accurate financial results.
  • Perform monthly analysis of revenue and expenses to identify reasons for variances against budget.
  • Review job profitability to ensure revenue and costs are accurate and complete.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain a robust internal control environment that supports U.S. GAAP compliance, SOX requirements, asset protection, and reporting integrity.
  • Serve as the lead regional accounting authority on technical accounting matters, control governance, and financial reporting issues, in partnership with the CFO and parent company stakeholders.
  • Oversee regional tax compliance activities, including coordination of sales and use tax, state and federal income tax, property tax, franchise tax, and other statutory reporting requirements.
  • Oversee debt covenant calculations, lender reporting, and related financial compliance obligations.
  • Partners with executive leadership, site leaders, and department heads to provide financial guidance, improve decision-making, and align controllership priorities with business strategy.
  • Drive standardization, simplification, and continuous improvement of accounting processes, controls, and systems across the region to support scale and operational efficiency.
  • Support the CFO on strategic projects, organizational initiatives, and key business matters affecting the financial infrastructure of Rigaku Americas.
  • Succession planning, capability development, performance management, and team effectiveness.
