About The Position

We are seeking a hands-on Corporate Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations for our high-growth, publicly traded organization with multiple subsidiaries, various business lines, and multiple ERP/GL systems. This role is for a true owner of the accounting function—someone who organizes teams, builds scalable processes, and ensures that monthly close and internal reporting execute consistently and predictably, with the Controller independently managing day-to-day execution while partnering with VP leadership on ad hoc transactions or judgment-intensive items. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly accountable, and thrives in environments where ownership, discipline, and execution are simply core expectations. Beyond day-to-day execution, this role requires the ability to analyze outcomes, detect errors or inconsistencies, solve the problem or propose a solution, and articulate explanations with clarity. This role will report to the VP Accounting

Requirements

  • Be comfortable handling both day-to-day execution and strategic oversight.
  • Take initiative, define problems, collect and analyze data, and draw valid conclusions on one’s own.
  • Thorough understanding of US GAAP.
  • Strong analytical, research, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify potential issues before they become problems.
  • Highly proficient with ERP systems, such as NetSuite, Oracle or SAP.
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to effectively manage and develop a team.
  • A desire for ad hoc projects.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting.
  • CPA.
  • Public accounting experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of combined experience in public accounting and in the accounting department of a public company.

Responsibilities

  • Take complete ownership of and be fully responsible for the timely month-end close process. This includes proactively managing timelines, coordinating tasks, and ensuring tasks are performed and reviewed, while ensuring the highest quality of deliverables. The close process should execute predictably and without significant oversight or escalation.
  • Responsible for accounting for multiple entities including owning the GL, intercompany, revenue/expense recognition, fixed assets, and the full P&L.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the consolidated financials and explain them to executives on at least a quarterly basis.
  • Proactively review data for accuracy and completeness—digging into details, identifying issues, and validating results without needing direction or prompting.
  • Consolidation of multiple subsidiaries.
  • Accounting for complex transactions and accounting issues.
  • Accounting for and assisting with the integration of acquisitions and other types of investments.
  • Leading interactions with external auditors, supporting audit planning and fieldwork, and ensuring high-quality, evidence-based reporting is performed.
