Reporting to the Director of Finance and Analytics, the Corporate Controller is responsible for meeting the statutory requirements of the office by utilizing and maintaining the accounting system, preparing Monthly/Daily financial reports, and supervising the work of the staff accountants with the accounts receivable and accounts payable staff, auditing cash receipts, and maintain the inventory/fixed asset records of the Company.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree with accounting and auditing experience
5+ years of supervisory experience
Advanced in Microsoft Excel
Strong command of language and general communication skills
Strong facilitation and presentation skills
Excellent time management skills
Self-starter who works well independently
Knowledgeable in Guest Service
Strong adherence to brand and operational standards
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently

Responsibilities

Ensures the accuracy of data and adherence of the system to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Reviews departmental accounting data, identifies and corrects errors, identifies and computes accruals, applies accounting principles to transactions, and recommends revisions in departmental accounting procedures to ensure conformance with applicable statutes, laws, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Designs internal control systems for all departments to ensure the safeguarding of Company assets.
Files reports, such as monthly sales tax, which are necessary to comply with State law and Federal regulations.
Maintains the fixed asset inventory system by supervising the recording of all items in the inventory, maintaining pertinent records, and ensuring adequate treatment of fixed asset acquisitions and retirements.
Performs special accounting studies such as preparing cost allocation plans and calculating billing for services performed by Company departments.
Implement/update yearly store and SG&A budget, as well as free cash flow statement.
Manage monthly close and oversee monthly reconciliations.
Work in conjunction with outside auditors at year-end.
Support Director of Finance in management of key performance indicators and special projects.
Supervises employees in the Accounting Department, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, directing work, and appraising performance. Oversee a staff of 3-4 people, including AP/AR and Staff Accountant.
