About The Position

The Corporate Controller - US is a key role supporting corporate accounting operations with responsibility for month-end closing, consolidated financial reporting, and oversight of annual audit and tax engagements. Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, this role is a working manager with responsibility for multiple accounting functions and collaboration with Financial Controllers and Site Leaders across the United States and international locations.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in an individual contributor role supporting a broad range of accounting functions, including audit, tax, monthly close, and A/P
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • ERP experience required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP application in a manufacturing company environment
  • Accuracy and detail orientation are essential
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities are essential
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, securing company records, and demonstrating integrity in communications and actions
  • Self-management skills, including efficiency, sense of urgency, ability to adapt and respond to unexpected circumstances, and ability to juggle multiple projects, competing priorities, and meet concurrent deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel (advanced), PowerPoint, Word, and advanced Excel skills; Proficiency in the use of ERP systems for manufacturing is essential
  • Sets an example for integrity, communication, and compliance for others in the organization by following policies, communicating professionally, and providing timely responses to internal customers
  • A valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record is required

Responsibilities

  • Drives the monthly closing process for all business units and prepares consolidated monthly financial statements; prepares journal entries as required
  • Reviews and analyzes variances in weekly cash forecasting; prepares consolidated 13-week cash forecast, manages interest rate locks on debt, and monitors debt repayments and lines of credit
  • Analyzes actual vs. budget results to identify variances, providing commentary and recommending corrective actions
  • Responds to tax and audit inquiries to provide data and conduct analysis as appropriate; maintains engagement responsibility with the firms utilized for the enterprise financial audit and tax preparation activities, and ensures that Controllers and other parties provide requested data within deadlines; summarizes and communicates audit findings and recommendations to the executive team
  • Coordinates approval and execution of capital expenditures across the company, tracking from request through approval; ensures capital expenditures are included accurately in the cash forecast
  • Participates in the preparation of annual budget and quarterly forecasts, including management of corporate costs and allocations
  • Manages commercial insurance program; coordinates information requests for renewals and participates in broker meetings and negotiations as appropriate; coordinates claims for business insurance polices and provides process instructions and/or training as appropriate for site personnel submitting such claims
  • Ensures all accounting activities performed comply with US GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Serves on ERP steering committee to ensure accuracy and consistency of financial transactions and data reporting; analyzes data and recommends process changes to improve accuracy
  • Manages grant programs, tracking required information and preparing & submitting periodic reporting in support of grants
  • Performs other ad-hoc projects and reporting as required
  • May supervise other accounting staff
  • Regular attendance on-site at the workplace is required
  • This role is identified as requiring ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance; therefore, qualified candidates must meet the definition of a U.S. Person (per EAR Part 772 and ITAR 120.15): An individual who is granted U.S. citizenship, or An individual who is granted U.S. permanent residence (i.e., a "Green Card" holder), or An individual who is granted status as a "protected person"
