The Corporate Compliance Officer is responsible for the ongoing development, implementation, and review of an effective Corporate Compliance Program for Mary Cariola Center. This role also serves as the agency’s Privacy Officer, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, developing and implementing policies, training employees, conducting reviews, managing complaints, investigating incidents, and ensuring patient rights. The officer will oversee the development and communication of agency policies, coordinate internal audits, and act as an institutional resource for applicable regulations from oversight agencies. They will maintain current knowledge of regulations through networking and education, establish the agenda for the Quality and Compliance committee of the Board, and participate in leadership team meetings. This role is the primary resource for internal investigations, ensuring confidential storage of information, preparing and tracking professional services contracts, and drafting compliance-related policies. Additionally, the officer will develop and disseminate corporate compliance training, implement an annual workplan, foster understanding of compliance and risk management, build productive relationships with partners and regulators, and develop technical expertise in regulatory aspects of agency services. They will also collaborate on privacy and security risk assessments, identify areas for improvement, stay informed on issues affecting children and families, demonstrate public speaking skills, build relationships with the Board of Directors, and ensure annual reviews and updates of the Compliance Plan, policy, and Employee Handbook. The officer will also conduct agency investigations of reported violations.
