Mary Cariola Center is seeking a Corporate Compliance Officer to develop, implement, and review an effective Corporate Compliance Program. This role also serves as the agency’s Privacy Officer, responsible for ensuring compliance with HIPAA and protecting patient health information. The position involves developing policies, training employees, conducting reviews, managing complaints, investigating incidents, and ensuring patient rights. The officer will also oversee agency policies, coordinate internal audits, act as a resource for regulations, and maintain knowledge of relevant laws. Collaboration with agency leadership, the Quality and Compliance committee, and the President/CEO is essential. This role is a key part of the agency leadership team and serves as the primary resource for internal investigations, ensuring secure storage of sensitive information. Contract preparation, review, and renewal are also key responsibilities, along with drafting compliance policies and disseminating corporate compliance training. The officer will develop an annual workplan, partner with department directors on compliance and risk management, and build productive relationships with internal and external partners. Technical expertise in regulatory aspects of agency services is required, and collaboration with IT is necessary for privacy and security risk assessments. The role involves identifying areas for improvement and staying informed on issues affecting children and families, demonstrating strong public speaking and facilitation skills, and reporting to the Board of Directors and its Quality & Compliance Committee. Annual reviews of the Compliance Plan and Employee Handbook are also part of the role, as are agency investigations of policy violations.
