About The Position

Northern Credit Union is seeking a Corporate Communications Specialist to develop and deliver strategic corporate communications. This role supports Northern Credit Union’s priorities, strengthens its reputation, and enhances employee and stakeholder understanding of the organization’s purpose, values, and strategic direction. The Specialist will create communication strategies, messaging, and content for enterprise initiatives, organizational change, and business objectives, ensuring consistency and brand alignment. They will act as a trusted communications advisor, providing expertise and support to leaders, project teams, and business partners. The role involves building relationships, identifying communication needs, and ensuring effective stakeholder engagement through clear and compelling communications. The Specialist will produce various materials including communication plans, key messages, executive communications, presentations, newsletters, intranet content, media releases, and stakeholder updates, reinforcing the company culture, supporting change adoption, enhancing stakeholder confidence, and keeping employees connected to organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related communications role.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing corporate communication strategies for internal and external audiences, including support for organizational change initiatives and enterprise projects.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using digital communication, collaboration, content management, and content creation tools.
  • Strong relationship-building and consulting skills, with the ability to advise leaders, influence stakeholders, and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work.

  • Developing and delivering strategic corporate communications.
  • Developing communication strategies, messaging, and content that support enterprise initiatives, organizational change, and business objectives.
  • Ensuring communications are consistent, timely, and aligned with Northern’s brand.
  • Acting as a trusted communications advisor by providing expertise, guidance, and support throughout the planning and execution of organizational initiatives.
  • Building strong relationships, identifying communication needs and opportunities, and ensuring stakeholders are effectively engaged.
