About The Position

The Enterprise Services and Public Affairs (ESPA) Global Communications team is dedicated to enhancing and protecting Citi's reputation across all businesses and brands. This role will work as a key partner to the Citi Commercial Bank (CCB) business and its leadership to manage external and internal communications for CCB, which will be a key growth driver of Citi’s Banking strategy. This is a highly visible role within a primary business line of Citi’s Banking franchise, offering an excellent opportunity for a creative, driven and poised professional to play a key role in shaping and amplifying CCB’s narrative. The Banking Communications team is a high energy, hardworking and affable team that values colleagues who anticipate what needs to get done and act accordingly, are quick thinkers and can problem solve matters that arise unexpectedly, are intellectually curious, and who have high professional standards and deliver a thoughtful work product. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferable in Journalism or Communications or another related field.
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably for a Fortune 500 company, or in an agency supporting Fortune 500 companies.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly proactive, determined and results driven.
  • Creative mindset and ability to generate innovative ideas to create surround sound for the business.
  • A team player with a track record of success delivering high-quality work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Superb judgment, problem-solving ability and resourcefulness.
  • Strong command of and experience with consumer financial services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with CCB's Global Head and leadership team as a strategic communications advisor, shaping executive messaging and driving colleague engagement across the franchise.
  • Design and execute creative, proactive communications strategies that showcase CCB's unique value proposition and elevate awareness of its products and capabilities.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with top-tier financial media and journalists covering commercial banking, middle-market companies, and high-growth businesses expanding globally.
  • Craft compelling content across formats — press releases, executive talking points, media statements, award submissions, pitch materials, interview briefs, and internal colleague communications.
  • Distill complex financial concepts into clear, accessible narratives that resonate with diverse audiences while preserving the authentic voice of our leaders and the bank.
  • Build trusted relationships across all organizational levels, from senior executives to cross-functional peers and broader team members, fostering collaboration and alignment.
  • Champion the protection and enhancement of Citi's reputation with passion and vigilance in every communication touchpoint.
  • Demonstrate sound risk judgment in all business decisions, with particular attention to reputational considerations.
  • Safeguard Citi, our clients, and our assets by ensuring communications activities remain in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies; upholding the highest ethical standards in personal conduct and business practices.
