About The Position

HII - America’s largest shipbuilder and a global, all-domain defense provider- has an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Communications intern in the Summer of 2027! For 10 weeks at our Corporate office in Newport News, Virginia, you will: Support Communications needs as they arise with specific focus on advertising and branding, Editing documents, Writing assignments, Gathering of photos and videos, Event planning and execution, Social media post and other content development, Website support.

Requirements

Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (Official transcripts will be required)
Be enrolled in a relevant degreed program that supports the company’s business requirements which are typically in the following areas: Business, Management, Accounting, Economics/Finance, Tax Accounting or Accounting Taxation, Computer Information Science or Information Technology, Communications, Marketing, English, Human Resources
Currently attending a 4 year college or university (or 2+2 program) and ideally will be a rising Junior or above, and will be attending school in the fall following the internship, or currently enrolled in a relevant Master's program
Ability to work a 40-hour work week for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer
