These claims will be associated with various lines of insurance, including but not limited to, General Liability, Errors and Omissions, Property, Builders Risk, Worker’s Compensation and Auto. He or she while working with the Senior Manager Corporate Claims will provide direction, and guidance to the third-party administrator (“TPA”), and legal counsel on claims and coverage issues. The Claims Analyst will also interact with the Risk Management staff and the TPA on coverage matters, claims resolution strategies and settlement. He or she will authorize the settlement of claims within their settlement authority.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business or the liberal arts . A candidate with equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of broad insurance/claims adjusting and administration experience or construction/customer service experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to understand and explain complex insurance issues
  • Ability to negotiate and strategize resolution of claims
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers (Area and Division management, auditors, insurance brokers, insurance carriers, and subcontractors)
  • Ability to work independently, set goals, and achieve results
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, react quickly, and handle highly charged situations
  • Works well within a team of individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the oversight and management of all assigned insured claims from onset to conclusion.
  • Proactively manage the claim financials and reserves to ensure claim is efficiently and cost effectively brought to conclusion.
  • A key part of managing assigned claims includes managing claim recovery activity.
  • These claims may involve general liability, products completed operations, property, or builder’s risk.
  • In partnership with Senior Corporate Claims Manager conducts an initial coverage review, identifies, negotiates and resolves potential issues with Risk, TPA and coverage counsel.
  • Responsible for implementing Company policy and procedures for the reporting, handling and oversight of insured claims.
  • Participates in quarterly file review and claims audits.
  • Participate, as needed, in trials, arbitrations and mediations.
  • Participates in training Area and Division staff, whether in person or by webinar, in claims reporting and claims administration.
  • Participate in completion of various Risk Department projects as assigned.
  • Participate in meetings and provides reporting as required.
