About The Position

Saratoga Casino Hotel is seeking a Corporate Benefits Specialist to promote outstanding relations with team members across four properties as they navigate through benefits, leave of absences, workers compensation and accommodations. This position will focus heavily on NYS PFL, CO FAMLI, FMLA, ADA, and Workers Comp in each state we operate in. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related preferred
  • HR Certification is a plus!
  • Experience with FMLA, ADA, NY Workers Comp, NY PFL required.
  • Solid understanding of labor laws and leave management
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Previous experience working with labor unions is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Work with our Third Party Administrator to approve and track leave of absences
  • Ensure all leave requests follow federal and state laws
  • Partner with property leaders to determine reasonable accommodations
  • File and oversee Workers Compensation Claims
  • Determine eligibility and coordinate details of personal leave of absences
  • Communicate with employees to explain their leave options, update them on their status, and provide guidance on next steps
  • Collect and review medical certifications
  • Coordinate with payroll and the employee to manage compensation changes and back payments of benefit premiums
  • Maintains confidentiality of employee medical records in accordance with privacy guidelines and HIPPA
  • Support the company's health & wellness initiatives
  • Support annual audit and reporting requirements
